You gotta fight. For your right.

Big weekend at the Negru/Gomoiou household. Grandpa Negru turned 88 years old, one year for every mile per hour that a DeLorean needs to be going to travel through time. That is the second Back to the Future reference on this blog. I should stop doing that.

We had Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Negru over for mici and birthday cake, as well as Great-Grandma Gomoiou and Io's aunt. It was quite a party. Four generations of Romanians, ranging in age from 2 weeks to 92 years. Wow. Tania's cooking and baking were excellent as always and a good time was had by all, especially me because I snuck off halfway through and took a much-needed nap.

Changing a dirty diaper: We could have sold tickets.

The rest of the weekend was pretty chill. Gabe's started getting major "tummy time," so that he can practice raising his head and pushing with his arms. As an unbiased and scientific observer, I can say that Gabe is way ahead of other babies his age.

We also headed out and got a stroller for Gabriel. I was actually in favor of just using a baby-carrier at least for the first few months, but was roundly shouted down by everyone else in the house. So we went on a multi-store comparison shopping tour, hitting Metro, Real, and Auchan, the hat-trick of Bucharest hipermarts. After much consideration, pushing different strollers around the store with both hands, with one hand, with our feet, with our eyes closed, we settled on the Foxy:

It is indeed quite foxy, just like Gabriel himself. There's really no room for it in our little submarine, but Gabriel seems to enjoy being pushed around in it. And it's full of convenient features such as wheels and a place to put the baby.

The trip also gave me the chance to discover this shirt, which tells us that the largest city in California People of Windsurf US is: Union Made Planet Earth High Place 53, Only In LA Downtown.

Right.
