Second Verse, Same As The First

This post is mostly going to be an excuse to put up a bunch of baby pictures. There's not a lot to report from this week -- no doctor's appointments, no terribly exciting developments in either the world of Gabriel or the world of Ry and Io. Still no birth certificate, still teaching ESL classes with a baby along for the ride, Gabe is still colicky.

This week is our final week before our friends Chris and Liz arrive in town, and we have decided against all sense and practicality to try taking an overnight trip to Sighisoara with them. If Gabe is having a bad day and crying all the time, this will be a disaster of Biblical proportions. But if he's having a good day and mostly sleeps and chills out, it will be really fun. Stay tuned!

Everyone in the submarine is still pitching in and dealing with Gabe's colic as best they can, which is very helpful. Tania in particular is going above and beyond the call of grandma duty, and seems to have a magic touch when it comes to calming Gabriel down.

Io and I have been trying to take him out for walks (well, stroller rides. It would be a little much to ask him to walk anywhere at this point) every day as long as the weather is nice. Which is good for us too. Staying cooped up in the bloc all the time is a good way to drive yourself crazy.

Perhaps not the best place for a nap

Gabe the Pirate

I almost bought Gabriel this Rattle-O'-Nine-Tails but then I thought about the fact that he's already being raised in Dracula's backyard and figured maybe it's best not to.
